New England Canoe Polo
New England Canoe Polo (NECP) is a small club of athletes and enthusiasts in the greater Boston area. The club had an existing Web site, but it had not been updated regularly for some time. I performed a complete redesign of the site, with the following goals:
- Make the site easier to update and maintain
- Provide information to current club members and members of other clubs on practice times and locations, upcoming events, and club news.
- Make important resources more readily available (links to other clubs and equipment vendors, rules, etc)
- Support efforts to recruit new players and provide information such as rules, FAQs, etc
- Provide an easier way to share photos, video and other media
I was responsible for all aspects of this project, from design through development.
Responsibilities
- Worked with club members to identify site goals and requirements
- Created Photoshop mockups of several possible designs for review by club members
- Developed pages in PHP, XHTML and CSS
- Wrote custom JavaScript (including scripts for FAQ expand/contract and form validation)
- Wrote all site copy
