- App now forces users' characters to be 100 years old or less. Staff
or Admin characters can be any age.
- Character details page now displays character's age, not
player's (thanks John and Nicole!)
- 3/4/03: Added spheres (spell headers, eg primalist,
illusionist) to Admin section. Added all correct Atlas spheres. I'm
calling these "spheres" for convenience; the rules call them
"magical headers."
- 3/4/03: Added Spells to Admin section. Spells are
associated with a specific skill that allows a player to purchase spells
from that sphere/header (e.g. "magical talent (illusionist)").
Entered all Atlas spells.
- 3/4/03: Can now add archetypes through Admin section.
Archetypes support spells. Site correctly calculates amount of CP for
each archetype.
- 3/4/03: Fixed "error occurred while processing
request" ColdFusion error on character wizard confirmation page.
Occurred when user reached confirmation screen in the character wizard
without selecting any skills.
- 3/4/03: Added Character section to Admin site. Ability
to edit characters is forthcoming.
- 3/5/03: "Lost password" function is now
working. Password question/answer is no longer necessary and will probably
be removed.
- 3/6/03: Added ColdFusion-based list of skills and
headers that sorts multiple ways, for posting as part of main site.
- 3/6/03: Updated all skills according to final list.
- 3/13/03: Site now automatically calculates birth
year by age, or age according to birth year (it's a simple year subtraction--doesn't
take months into account yet).
- 3/13/03: Site now allows player to select an archetype
for the character and pre-sets the CP total accordingly.
- 3/13/03: Added admin page allowing staff to assign
CP to a player in case a character doesn't exist yet. When the player
creates a character s/he has the option of assigning that "floating"
CP to the character. CP Tracker page now tracks floating CP as well
as CP for all characters.
- 3/13/03: Spells added to character generator; CP
automatically adds/subtract correctly. Spells are now completely working
throughout the site.
- 3/13/03: Moved event registration function to admin
side. Staff can now register players through Admin section, cancel registrations,
and view registrations by PCs, NPCs, or cancellations.
- 3/13/03: Staff can now display and print character
cards through the Events section (it's currently one at a time--I'm
working on doing multiple characters at once).
- 3/13/03: Fixed several bugs on the character details
and character generator confirmation pages. These pages should now display
all of the correct information.
- 3/13/03: Added Server Settings section to admin side.
Allows admins to centrally control values like starting CP, number of
characters per players, whether or not to use archetypes, name of campaign,
etc. Rest of site now uses these values.
- 3/16/03: Added explanation links at several points
in character generator to explain basic nTeraction rule concepts (archetypes,
attributes, etc).
- 3/16/03: If you select an archetype, site now tells
you exactly what headers and skills you need to qualify for the archetype.
- 3/19/03: Stackable skills are now full working in
the character generator. This includes both straight stackable skills
(e.g. marksmanship) and skills whose costs increase in a pattern (e.g.
herbology, mechanical creation).
- 3/19/03: Fixed several bugs in attribute CP calculations.
- 3/19/03: Site no longer allows user to go into negative
CP.
- 3/20/03: Archetypes now support stackable skills.
All archetypes can now be configured in DB.
- 3/20/03: Archetypes can now be edited in Admin section.
- 3/24/03: Characters can now be updated. Users can
not unselect skills, headers, and spells they have already bought, but
can add new skills, headers, and spells.
- 3/25/03: Attribute fields now force user to enter
values in whole numbers (not decimals). This fixes a CP calculation
bug if the user entered a decimal (and follows nTeraction rules!).
- 3/25/03: Fixed known issue that caused CP calculation
problems if a user unselected a header that still had skills selected
under it, or a magical talent skill that still had spells selected under
it. Site now displays a warning that forces the user to unselect the
skills or spells first.
- 3/25/03: Fixed bug that didn't allow changes to "stick"
when user attempted to unselect the last header, skill, or spell on
a page.
- 3/25/03: Vitality now rounds down correctly.
- 3/31/03: Users must now reduce the quantity of a
"stackable" skill to 1 before deselecting it (fixed known
issue that caused calculation problems).
- 3/31/03: Site has now been tested on multiple versions
of IE and Netscape on multiple platforms and appears to look OK on all
of them. Woo hoo!
- 4/1/03: You can now come back to Step 1 of the character
wizard from a later step and change your archetype status (if you change
from an archetype to no archetype or vice versa, it automatically adds
or subtracts the 2 CP).
- 4/1/03: You can now come back to Step 1 of the character
wizard from a later step and change the amount of floating CP you've
applied (it automatically adds or subtracts the right amount).
- 4/1/03: During character update, site now prevents
users from unselecting stackable skills they have already purchased
or from reducing the quantity of the skill below the previously saved
level.
- 4/1/03: Site now prevents users from going into negative
CP by increasing levels of "stackable" skills.
- 4/1/03: Site now actually stores and tracks archetypes
for each character.
- 4/1/03: Added numeric validations to all numeric
fields on Step 1 of generator. Site now prevents users from entering
negative numbers for character age or entering years after 1911.
- 4/1/03: New Player Registration page now requires
all correct fields, and prevents user from continuing if password and
confirmed password don't match.
- 4/2/03: Site now prevents users from creating more
than the allowed maximum number of characters. Admins and staff members
can have any number of characters. The maximum number of player characters
is a server setting controlled through the Admin section.
- 4/2/03: Character generator area now includes an
Admin tab header that links to the Admin section. The tab only displays
if the user is an Admin or staff member.
- 4/3/03: If users attempt to change the quantity of
a skill they haven't selected yet, app now automatically selects the
skill for them and performs the calculations correctly. This is (hopefully)
relatively intuitive AND prevents incorrect calculations.
This is the current list of known issues with the character
generator.
- Site does not display a message or otherwise warn you if you create
a character that violates the archetype's requirements.
- When you create or edit a character, go to another page in the site,
then click the "resume" button to return to the wizard,
changes you made to the most recent page of the wizard are lost.
- Pages in the Admin section do not all have the "tab" header,
and tabs do not "highlight" correctly.
- There is currently very little difference in the access levels of
"staff" and "admin" users. The final version will
automatically allow/disallow access to parts of the admin site based
on whether you're a staff or admin user.
- Characters section in Admin site works, but staff can not edit characters.
In the final version, staff members will be able to view a list of
all characters in the system and update any character. Staff members
will be able to change anything about the character (including removing
skills and headers).
- Admin login page displays in wrong font.
- "New player" and "lost password" links from
Admin login page don't work.
- No ability to delete a character. This is deliberate--players will
need to ask staff to delete or "retire" characters to prevent
accidental deletions.
- If you're at a low number of CP (2 or 3 or less) you may not be
able to add floating CP and then remove your archetype (or add an
archetype and then remove floating CP) without hitting Next and then
Back. This is because the site doesn't calculate the changes to the
Free CP until you hit Next (so it isn't aware you've added enough
to the FreeCP total to make the other change until you hit Next).
