Photosynthesis
I live in a world of two suns:
I stretch, yearning, towards your light
while you in turn reach greening limbs
and unfolding leaves to me.
This is not evolution;
We intertwine here; we wrap
stem around stem and shape each other
to the other's form until
we grow together.
In this superfluence of light we meet
trunk to trunk, limb to limb,
pressing our green surfaces together
in a phototropic kiss.
